The war map is a globe with a year slider running from 3000 BC to today. Stop on a year and it plots the battles of every war active at that moment — Gallipoli and Verdun together in 1916, Sakarya and Dumlupınar in 1921, Gaugamela in 331 BC. It covers 446 wars and 2,227 battles.
What you can do
Drag the year and watch the fighting move across the map, century by century.
Click a battle for its date, the war it belongs to, and who fought whom — sides split into two camps wherever the underlying data supports it, and left as a plain list of belligerents where it doesn't.
Search any war or battle by name and fly straight to it.
Switch to People and the same globe shows who was alive that year, and where they were born.
Battles are plotted as points at the place they were fought. The map does not animate territorial borders or empire boundaries — it answers what was being fought, where, and by whom, next to who was alive at the time.
